Intel’s flagship Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU is currently discounted to $279.99 at Amazon, marking a $45 reduction from its usual price. Benchmarks show it rivals AMD’s top-tier Ryzen CPUs and outperforms some Intel models, making it a strong choice for gamers and PC builders.
Intel’s flagship Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU is now available for $279.99 at Amazon, marking a $45 discount and making it one of the most affordable options for high-performance desktop processors.
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, announced in late March as one of Intel’s fastest gaming processors, is now available at an all-time low price of $279.99, roughly $45 off its regular retail price. Benchmarks from Gamers Nexus indicate that this CPU delivers performance comparable to AMD’s Ryzen 9 9000-series CPUs equipped with X3D cache technology, and surpasses Intel’s own Core i9 14900K in several tasks.
This processor requires a motherboard with an LGA 1851 socket, compatible with DDR5 RAM, multiple M.2 SSDs, and Wi-Fi 7 support. The deal is available exclusively through Amazon, and the promotion runs through July 31, with a bonus offer to register the purchase for a free download of the Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game.
Why It Matters
This price reduction makes a high-end CPU more accessible for gamers and PC enthusiasts looking to upgrade or build new systems. The performance benchmarks suggest that the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus offers a compelling alternative to more expensive CPUs, potentially impacting the competitive landscape of high-performance desktop processors. For consumers, this could mean better value for top-tier gaming and productivity tasks.

Background
Intel announced the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus in late March, emphasizing its status as one of the company’s fastest gaming CPUs. The processor’s performance has been validated by recent benchmarks, which show it competing closely with AMD’s Ryzen 9000-series and outperforming Intel’s own Core i9 14900K in several benchmarks. The current discount at Amazon is the first significant price drop since its release, making it more attractive to buyers amid ongoing PC component price fluctuations.
